Andrew (Guy)

Be polite and dress appropriately! Not like you're going to church, but not like a really short skirt or really short shorts. Whatever you wear, depending on if it's just a regular day or some special occasion, just make sure it's decent, because I know my mom would think badly if a girl showed up with too much skin showing.

Deborah (Mom)

If they ask you to dinner bring something over, like a dessert. Oh, and it's definitely important to help out if they are making dinner, or at least offer to help out his mom in the kitchen because that looks really good.

Denise (Married her boyfriend!)

When it comes to the parents of your boyfriend, I've learned that it's better to listen more than you talk, so you can ask questions, nothing too personal, but make sure that the conversation is not monopolized by you.

These are just some opinions for you to try!

great article! And I agree, being sincere and comfortable is key. Being yourself definitely helps too. I remember being SO nervous when I first met my boyfriend's mom! But now we get along really well.
aw i thought that was a great article! and great advice! It's true, the more comfortable you are (or are faking to be), the smoother the meeting will go.
