Even if your mom isn't exactly fighting you over the Wiimote, that doesn't mean there's a lack of mom-friendly games out there that you guys can enjoy together. We're not suggesting that you try to get her to play Grand Theft Auto IV (though if do you, please let us know how you accomplished this), but there just so happens to be a wealth of games out right now that do not involve gunning down gang members in an abandoned warehouse. Yup, it's true: there are some video games out there that Mom might actually like. Check 'em out!

Brain Age 2, DS

There's a good chance that Mom has already heard about this game, because it really does help improve memory and concentration. With 17 all-new brain exercises, the game will tell you how old your brain is and engage you in activities designed to help improve bloodflow to the prefrontal cortex. You can even play against friends and family, so prepare with a little healthy competition once Mom decides to challenge you over who's taking the garbage out tonight.

Smarty Pants, Wii

The neat thing about this trivia game is that it adjusts the questions to your skill level based on how old you are. That way, Mom can challenge her friends, relatives, or just about anyone she feels like schooling. There are over 20,000 questions in multiple categories, so whether Mom is a science buff or addicted to American Idol, she won't have a problem tweaking the game to her liking. Even though you'll have to use the Wiimote, you don't need the nunchuck for this game, so even someone who's never played a video game ever before can get the hang of it in a snap.
