Carlos Santana is a man we ought to thank for many reasons. Oh, of course his phenomenal musical talent is one of these reasons, and also the sexy line of women's shoes in his name, but more recently, we can also thank him for passing his melodious traits down to his son, Salvador Santana.
Salvador is the lead vocalist of the Salvador Santana Band (SSB), which carries a heavy name to live up to, considering his dad won 10 Grammy Awards! Other band members include Emerson Cardenas, Woody Aplanalp, Tony Austin, Quincy McCary, and Jose Espinosa, who all contribute to the vocals and instrumental. The young Salvador (He's only 25!) and band mates had playing together for a year before their first album was recorded.

Their music is mixture of all different kinds of music, including of course, Latino influences, and what Salvador calls his favorite music. It's not hard to believe that the music would be diverse, considering how diverse the actual band is. Some of their influences include Bob Marley, The Roots, Jimi Hendrix, and Jurassic 5. According to Salvador's MySpace, "Their free-spirited, poetic hip-hop and positive vibe are elements that indeed resonate in the energetic flow."

Salvador himself grew up in Northern California and studied at San Fransisco's School of the Arts. By collaborating with his dad when he was only 15 years old, he ended up winning a Grammy for the track "El Farol" on Carlos Santana's CD, "Supernatural", released in 1999. We can all see which career he was heading for at a very young age!

Their funky music videos also mirror their funky musical style, which promises to be unlike anything else that you'll hear in 2008. You can check Salvador out at The Salvador Santana MySpace Page (where the band members are all each other's top friends) or Salvador Santana's Website!
