David Cook - The Studdard
Again, Cook is a huge thankful shock this season. He quickly rose to knock out early favorites like Michael Johns and Carly Smithson to secure his almost future stardom, and in keeping with the comparison of the season two, he's this year's Ruben. Hopefully though if he does end up becoming the winner, he wont really end up like the previous winner and fade into obscurity, only being recognized for his mass more than his voice. Cook should have shined on a week with rock and roll classics, but bombed his first song "Hungry like the Wolf." Luckily for him, his second choice of "Baba O' Reiley" was enough to get his fans to vote for him. Many predicted the morning after that he was in fear of being eliminated, since he was most likely to have people assume he was safe and vote for other favorites, but David Cook was spared and hopefully will make it to the finale. One has to wonder though, if this rocker guy wins the whole thing, being the first to do so, can he still make the record he wants while suffering from the rumored horrible contracts given to the winners? Maybe it would be best for him to make it to the finals and give up the crown so he can continue to rock for all of us in his own way.
