What year is it again?

With the exception of places like Dave and Buster's, the idea of the arcade is all but dead. Sure, we all love some Skee-ball every now and again, but these days we can throw down a few bills and play games that are exponentially more rewarding than what any arcade has to offer. Well, besides tickets that can buy us plastic spider rings. But recently, there's been a surge in revamped editions of old school arcade classics from the 80's. Here's a few upcoming ones made exclusively for the DS.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword

Out Now

Because the DS is so darn special, it gets its own version of this updated classic. You get to hold the DS like a book and draw various symbols with the stylus to execute different types of Ninpo- that would be your ninja magic- and execute all types of enemies. You play as Ryu, in a storyline that is entirely separate from that of the upcoming Ninja Gaiden II. Who doesn't want a ninja in their pocket?

Space Invaders Extreme

6/17

Note how we can improve anything by tacking the word "extreme" onto its title. In honor of the 30th anniversary original intergalactic shooter, Space Invaders Extreme is a pimped out version of the classic game with new music, crazy visuals, intense boss battles, and even the chance to play others in wireless mode. Poor Atari could never compete.
