I'll admit it: I have an addiction. But it's not the type of habit that prevents me from functioning normally in everyday life. In fact, it makes my days much better than they would normally be. Plus, it's a total time-waster, which is always good in my book. So boys and girls, let me introduce to you something that will change your life, almost certainly for the better. All you need to know is one word: Muxtape. You're probably wondering what the heck I'm talking about. Open a new browser and head over to Muxtape. When the site opens, you'll see a big, clear cassette tape at the top and below that, a big block of multicolored rectangles with words in them. If you click on one, you'll be transported to a Muxtape user's personal profile.
Unlike MySpace and Facebook, there's nothing that identifies the person behind the prof. It's just a bunch of song titles on a page, no more than 12. But someone chose those tracks for you to hear, and if you click on one of the songs listed on the page, it begins to stream. You're already using Muxtape! Easy, I know.
The concept of the website is that users can create their own profile and share 12 of their favorite tracks. With the advent of MP3s and the increasing reliance on digital forms of listening to music, Muxtape is trying to bring back the classic mixtape format. You know, the one where you would slave over the choice of songs, fuss over their order and follow ridiculous rules like "Thou shalt not put two songs by the same artist on thy mixtape."

people upload the mixtapes their exes made for them. I like to
learn about new music, but this is just so.... random.
