For the last few years, Guitar Hero and Rock Band have been console superstars, but they aren't the only titles that incorporate music into the gameplay.

Amplitude

The sequel to Harmonix's rockin' FreQuency for the PS2, this game puts you in the cockpit of the Beat Blaster, a ship that travels on colored tracks that make up songs. It's up to the player to hit buttons in the correct sequence to "capture" vocals, bass, and other elements to navigate through original music from hit artists like Run D.M.C, Weezer, Pink, Blink 182, and more. You can even remix songs!

Elite Beat Agents

Based on the hit game Ouendan in Japan, Elite Beat Agents utilizes the DS's stylus to create a screen-tapping good time. You help the suited Players hit and drag objects through a rhythm obstacle course, helping the suited Agents cheer on people with smooth dance moves. Clients ranged from a jock boyfriend babysitter to the spoiled heiresses on a desert island, and even the whole world as they try to drive out alien invaders. Catchy tunes, zany manga-style plots, and addictive gameplay make this one unique title.
