The E! Network isn't exactly known for its groundbreaking documentaries so much as it's known for, well, Talk Soup. However, the THS Investigates series provides in-depth investigations about some of the most prevalent and frightening issues that teens face today. The May 16th episode, "Dating Nightmares", exposed how dangerous the dating scene can be.

Using interviews with parents and friends of those who became victims of dating tragedies, the episode shows us how even the brightest teens can fall in with the wrong people. Thirteen-year-old Kacie Woody from a small town in Arkanas used to chat online in Christian chatrooms only while her dad looked on from across the living room. It was in one of these chatrooms that she met 18-year-old Dave, a long-haired surfer guy from California. Kacie's dad forbade her to talk to Dave when he found out he was 18, but Kacie and Dave continued their relationship on the phone. By the time Dave said he'd be in Arkanas to see an aunt who was in a coma and could stop by to meet Kacie, she'd already known him for over six months and didn't suspect anything unusual. On the evening of December 3rd, 2002, Kacie was abducted from her home. The next day, police found the bodies of Kacie and 47-year-old David Fuller in the back of a mini-van parked inside of a storage unit. David had killed Kacie, and in a final act of desperation, turned the gun on himself.
