Like most competition-oriented reality shows, each season of America's Next Top Model contains a few token contestants that realistically have a very slim chance of winning. The sad thing about this show is that plus-sized models were never seen as actual contenders for the title- until now. This past week, Whitney Thompson of Atlantic Beach, Florida became the first ever plus-size model to win on ANTM. At 5'10 and a size 10, she's hardly a sample size. Regular models are typically a size 4 at most, though the majority is in the size 2 range. When Whitney auditioned for the show in Orlando, she saw the other girls freaking out over weight issues. Rather than getting all self-conscious, she radiated confidence and told reporters afterwards, "My body rocks!"
Throughout the show, Whitney kept that same positive attitude, but still received harsh criticism from other contestants and judges alike. One of the judges, Paulina Porizkova, never seemed to give poor Whitney a break. At one point she called her a 'ham' and said she didn't think Whitney wasn't taking the show seriously. All of the judges at one point or another agreed she was 'fake' or 'too pageant.'

the big gurl won but i liked her, so i think it is good for her to
win, she was not really what you would call big
