What's a summer without some guitars and blasting instruments? Rock goes hand in hand with the hot weather, and there's a bunch of releases to whet your appetite for new music. Releases are scheduled for stadium rockers Coldplay, king of emo Conor Oberst and plenty more. Here's a preview of some of the biggest and best albums to look forward to this summer.
Weezer - Weezer (The Red Album) (June 3, 2008)

The nerdy rock stars that brought you hits like "The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly" are back and better than ever. After lead singer Rivers Cuomo finished up his education at Harvard University (impressively graduating Phi Beta Kappa) and got married, the group headed to the studio with legendary producer Rick Rubin to record The Red Album, which Cuomo states resulted in an "experimental" album.
Although much of the album has already leaked online, fans can expect to get heavy replay value out of these tracks. The first single, "Pork and Beans," features some petty lyrics, but Cuomo's straight-faced delivery and the grungy guitar arrangements give this track some weight. "Greatest Man That Ever Lived" flows in the same vein, featuring heavy chanting segments mixed with acoustic interludes. The album may be different from previous releases, but these songs show they're the same old Weezer they've always been.
