You would think that being in a singing group with your twin sister would drive you nuts, but Lisa Origliasso, one-half of the electropop duo The Veronicas, considers it a blessing. She and her sister Jessica released their debut album The Secret Life of... and the follow-up Hook Me Up, making them breakout stars in their native country of Australia and a band on-the-rise in the U.S.When the girls started out, their name rustled the feathers of Archie Comics who sued them for stealing the name of their star character. But instead of fighting a legal battle, the girls teamed up with the comic producers and have since gone on to grace the cover of a special "Veronicas" issue of the classic strip.
Having built a solid fan base with comic appearances and their debut The Secret Life of..., the sisters released their sophomore album Hook Me Up in Australia last November, making a splash Down Under and checking in at number two on the Australian ARIA Album Chart. Despite having enormous success in their homeland, the girls have taken their time in putting out the record in the States, releasing the album on iTunes instead of in the traditional CD format on May 13.Their single "Untouched" is beginning to make its rounds on the radio circuit, but in the meantime, the twins are hitting the road as part of the Verizon VIP Tour with Natasha Bedingfield and Kate Voegel. Kiwibox talked with Lisa before she and Jessica began their trek around the country. Lisa may have been just getting over tonsillitis, but she still managed to discuss how she isn't afraid to bust a rhyme, is looking forward to visiting Sin City and remains civil while traveling on tour with her sibling.
