If Usher hasn't yet won you over, you just might have a heart of stone. But with the release of his fifth studio album Here I Stand, the Hotlanta R&B king is determined to thaw the icy heart of every and any hater with 18 tracks discussing romance, love and, in true Usher form, sex.
Usher has figured out that the key to making a successful R&B album is to cater to the ladies, and there are plenty of tracks on Here I Stand that are targeted at the female population. By now, you've probably heard "Love In This Club," featuring Young Jeezy and a spacey Euro-synth beat courtesy of Polow da Don. But the record also features equally as potent club tracks, like the will.i.am-produced "What's Your Name" and Curtis Mayfield-sampling "Best Friend" featuring the recently wedded Jay-Z.
But even though Usher gets down and dirty throughout Here I Stand, there are a handful of tracks that reveal the real family man aspect of his personal life. Unlike with previous Usher albums, Here I Stand shows a more mature side of the performer, stemming from his recent marriage to wife Tameka Foster and birth of his baby son.
