Fiery red hair, porcelain skin and a chilling sweet voice: Not exactly the image that comes to mind when you hear the band name A Fine Frenzy. But Alison Sudol, who performs under that moniker, thwarts any expectation you might have of a musician associated with the word "frenzy." In fact, the singer-songwriter and pianist writes nothing but mellow tunes, and with her penchant for literature and tranquil persona, Alison embodies quite the opposite of what "frenzy" implies.
As A Fine Frenzy, Alison released her debut One Cell in the Sea last summer, a hauntingly romantic album filled with sweeping melodies and delicate vocals. The record spawned the singles "Almost Lover" and "Come On Come Out," both of which made appearances on the hit television shows The Hills and One Tree Hill. Riding off the success of the album, Alison opened for Rufus Wainwright last year and headlined her own tour this past spring, journeying across the U.S. and Canada with her band in tow for a couple of months.

you-oughta-know-artist on Vh1, and it took off. No one really
listens to soft classical music anymore, but Alison puts it into
something new. Something better. :D Kudos to her. She PWNS.
