Safety Suit is one of those bands that when you hear them for the first time on the radio, you'll swear you've heard them somewhere else before. That's because the band has fine-tuned their sound so they can slide right into the block of music including huge stage acts like U2, Collective Soul and Pearl Jam. Yep, that's right: arena rock is back.
Although arena rock has become synonymous with selling out, the guys from Safety Suit have never had dollar signs in their eyes. The four friends from Tulsa started out as a band called Crew and played any local gig that would have them. They eventually became a local phenomenon, often drawing 1,000 fans per night. But the group decided they needed to move on to a new locale in order to spread their creative wings. Instead of choosing one of the obvious rock hubs like New York or L.A., they opted for Nashville. They recorded an EP with Greg Archilla, who worked with groups like Buckcherry and Collective Soul in the past, and continued playing shows despite the lack of fans in their new town.
