If Kate's pretty brunette-framed face looks familiar to you, it might be because of her guest appearance on one of your favorite primetime shows. Earlier this year, she played a young singer and keyboardist on the CW series One Tree Hill. On the show, she was in a rock band fronted by Jason, who was played by none other than Kevin Federline. After ditching K-Fed's character on account of his bad attitude (art really does imitate life, huh?), she went solo and performed songs from her real-life debut album, Don't Look Away.So how did this 21-year-old singer wind up on one of the hottest shows on TV? The answer: MySpace. After recording a series of demos, including "The Other Side" and "Louder than Words," Kate scored a meeting with MySpace Records in 2006. (And yes, this included hanging out with the fabled Tom.) She was feeling their down-to-earth vibe and the timing was right, so she signed a deal with them, resulting in the recording of her debut Don't Look Away.
