Pop was definitely scarce, so this list might be stretching it a bit. But for the poppiest acts there, this recap definitely shows that we did our best to cover the bases. Bonnaroo pop acts included Adele, Vampire Weekend, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings (biggest stretch of them all!) and a couple others. Kiwibox was there, camera in hand, to capture the magic as it happened. But until the videos pop onto the site, here's a literary remembrance of those bands' performances!
Vampire Weekend - 6/12, 11:30 P.M. - 12:45 A.M., This Tent
Everyone in attendance appeared to be at this show, although that could be because the main stage hadn't opened by the time Vampire Weekend graced This Tent. The group of Columbia grads rocked the headlining spot on the first night, though, tearing through cuts from their debut self-titled album released earlier this year. Hailed as afro-pop by many-a-critic, the four prepsters' standouts included "Oxford Comma," "A-Punk" and "One (Blake's Got a New Face)." They were the perfect band to set the festival off right.
