I looked at him and found him staring at me intently.

"Are you reading my mind?" I asked, shouting.

"Uh, no?" he answered, losing his concentration. The tingling stopped.

"You suck-monkey!" I exclaimed. "I'm supposed to be safe in my mind, and you're invading my personal space. My really personal space." He looked at the ceiling sheepishly.

"Look, I'm just as confused as you are, and I wanted to know how you really felt about me. I know I couldn't just ask or something. Please understand where I'm coming from, please?" I decided wholeheartedly that revenge would constitute as making it better.

What was I thinking? Now I might have ruined it. I really like her and now she's gonna hate me. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry.

"Fine. It's okay, just don't do it again or I'll be forced to bite you." I said.

"Okay. I won't," he promised. I smiled and sat up.

"Good. And to prevent this from happening again, let's be totally open. If I asked you something, you'd answer and vice versa."

"Okay then. That's fair enough. Why don't we give it a practice run now?" he asked.

"Uh, I don't know."

"Please?" I sighed before nodding. "Ok, I start. Do you think I'm cute?" He looked at me hopefully. I looked over him critically. His glasses were reflecting the light, and he was smiling a cocky little half smile.

"Yeah." I muttered. His smile widened.

"Your turn," he said.

"Um... would you ever jump off a cliff again?" I asked.

"Aw, you're no fun. And yeah, that was awesome."

"No fun? Why not? Just because I'm not taking advantage of this rare opportunity doesn't mean I'm no fun."

"Well, you could have asked something more original."

"More original then jumping off a cliff? Yeah. Sure." He stuck his tongue out at me and I returned the favor. We laughed and I pulled the blankets over my shoulders.

"So..." he said, trailing off. "Can you show me where the bathroom is?" he asked.

"Yeah, follow me." We stood and he followed me down the hall to the bathroom. I pointed him in and went back to my room. Logging onto my laptop, I found that my buddy was on.
