How to Vintage Shop

I'm a self-proclaimed vintage addict and living in NYC facilitates to my addiction. With downtown NY and Brooklyn's plethoric mecca of vintage shopping I have some great advice to share on the world of yesterday's treasures. All you need is some patience, a good eye in fashion, and a day to designate completely to the thrill of the hunt for that perfect pre-adored gem.

To better illustrate my points, I went to two amazing stores in NYC, Amarcord Vintage, a super high-end vintage boutique and Geminola, a boutique filled with vintage fabrics from all over the world made into your very own vintage couture ensemble. Amarcord has a bunch of high-end pieces from designers such as Versace, Pucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and even sporty pieces from Lacoste, and Adidas.

Geminola has you immediately hypnotized from the moment you walk in. Its whimsical decor transports you to a different time period. When I left the boutique I almost forgot I was in 2008. After spending the day at Geminola and Amarcord, both stores are definitely at the top of my NYC vintage shopping list. If you're in town be sure to check them out!
