On court, Maria prefers to keep things simple. For majors she usually sticks to dresses with feminine touches. At this year's Wimbledon, Maria did mix things up and debut a new kit from Nike with a see-thru tuxedo shirt and shorts with a tab closure. Maria was quickly ousted from the tournament, but it's clear her fashion sense has a few of the other players jealous. One went so far to say she was happy to beat Maria just because she didn't like her outfit. Off court, Maria works designer fashions as well. One of her favorite designers is Peter Som and she can often be spoted in his dresses for her off court appearances. Additionally, Maria moonlights as a sometimes model for fashion magazines and luxury brands.
