If there's anyone that knows a thing or two about gaming, it's Jace Hall. As the founder of Monolith, the company that produced games like The Matrix Online, No One Lives Forever, and F.E.A.R., he's been hard at work in the gaming industry since 1994. Besides producing countless games, Monolith created a real-time, state-of-the-art 3D authoring technology. Jace also headed up Warner Bros. Interactive and owns HDFilms. But his latest project, aptly titled The Jace Hall Show, has a bit more of D.I.Y. vibe to it.On the weekly web series, Jace plays host and shows us how video game culture has infiltrated Hollywood and beyond. This means he does a lot of hanging out with celebrities, occasionally challenging them to a game or two. Stars like Zachary Levi and Christina Milian have been on, and there are many more to come. The idea of the show is to provide something that anyone can watch and enjoy, regardless of whether or not they're a button-masher themselves. It also exposes a side of celebs that we don't often see.
Even though each episode is five minutes long, that's like a century in Internet time. Jace is definitely taking a chance, but he somehow manages to hold our attention all the way through. The show is slated for 13 episodes, but if it continues to do well we could be seeing a lot more of Jace in the near future.
In our exclusive audio interview, we asked Jace all about his gaming background and what it takes to work in the gaming industry. We also grilled him on his celeb guests and the games he's playing now and what's in store for the future.
