I woke up with a start, surprised to be feeling the same sensation as when I'm flashing. Strange, I don't sleep flash, do I? I opened my eyes and saw a dim ceiling. This isn't my room... I felt a tightness I hadn't notice on my arm loosen. I looked up and saw Alex. I yelped, but his hands flew over my mouth.

"Shh," he said urgently. I looked at him with questioning eyes. The moon was gleaming off of his glasses. His eyes were darker than normal, and he had a worried frown drawn onto his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked, shaken awake by his sense of urgency.

"Will said he saw them," he whispered.

"Who?"

"Them!" he whispered again. I gasped.

"The ones who are hunting us?" I asked. He nodded. "What are we going to do? Do they know where we are?"

"No. They don't know what we look like, which is why they don't just flash to us. Will didn't say anything, and he prevented them from seeing him." He sighed.

"What are we going to do?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I'm not sure. We'll tell my family and Phoebe, but I think we should run away."

"Run away? Why?"

"Do you want Phoebe to be killed?"

"No."

"Then I tell my parents and siblings. You flash home and tell Phoebe, then get packed and explain why we're going."

"So soon?"

"They move fast. We can spend the night in the cave. Get some money and your computer along with other things you need." I nodded and disappeared home.

Phoebe was lying on her back, breathing softly. I whispered her name and her eyes opened slowly.

"What's wrong, what time is it?"

"They're here. The vampires who want to kill me." She jumped up.

"Right here?"
