The second story is about Isabel the Jewel of Castile. I didn't know much about this story, but the DVD did a good job of explaining it in a way in which the audience would understand. The story really picks up when Isabella is about fifteen. At this point, she and her brother, Alfonso, were summoned to the court, to be under more direct supervision and control by the king. We watch as Isabel learns how to take control and fight the King for what she wants. After traveling from country to country with her best friend Catalina, Isabel gets married at sixteen to Ferdinand, heir to the thrown of Aragon. Once wed, Isabel rules from 1474-1504.

The last story is about Elizabeth I who is later named the Red Rose of the House of Tudor. The plot mainly consists of teenaged Elizabeth suffering the torments of her half-sister Mary, and trying to keep her good step mom Queen Catherine from becoming beheaded wife #3. We watch the constant fighting of Elizabeth and Mary, which is common in any household and the fight for a middle child to be noticed. After a fight to the throne, Elizabeth ruled from 1558-1603.

Over all, the entire DVD did its job. It taught history in a fun and interesting way that children would understand. Granted, I'm not sure if anyone over the age of twelve would watch it, but it's a good learning tool and would probably be best used in a history class of a younger audience.
