The BPRD's expanding team consists of Hellboy's pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug Jones), and protoplasmic mystic Johann Krauss (James Dodd), the newest member. They travel between the human world and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy become reality and some might even feel at home.
A slip-up results in the F.B.I. being forced to reveal the existence of BPRD to the general public. As the Bride of Frankenstein played on one of Hellboy's many TV's, he begins to wonder what he's really fighting for in a society where people are afraid of him and shunned him because of his appearance.
