Introducing Keri Hilson

A preview of a soon-to-be star.

She then decided to take the next step and pursue a career as a solo star, a decision that has worked out quite well for her so far. You probably know her as the guest singer on Timbaland's "The Way I Are" and "Scream," as well as Rich Boy's "Good Things" and more recently Nas' "Hero." But none of it compares to what Keri has done as an artist all on her own. Her single "Energy," the first from her upcoming album In a Perfect World, is both a club burner and a radio-friendly pop concoction. Keri's voice is perfectly honed for the track, and the unresolved melody mixed with the intense harmonies on the chorus make the song a certified future hit.

Only time will tell if Keri delivers more heat on her debut album, but if her track record is any indication, she's got a lot more to offer. From writer to producer to guest singer to solo star, Keri has already gone through the phases to make her a guaranteed success, and with the wisdom that she's accrued from her behind-the-scenes work in the industry, she's set to make the right decisions to get her career off the ground.
