"All three stages [in Shine Through] are working towards being who you want to be and making good choices," Kristina says.

For her it was her writing that helped her to be comfortable in her own skin--a feeling most don't truly obtain until their twenties or thirties--so she is passing this valuable knowledge onto others to help speed up their ability to connect with themselves.
When speaking to her younger audiences, she realizes something most teachers probably should...entertainment--and props--are key. For Kristina a purple wig and magic hat help her to teach the lessons of Shine Through in a different, more interactive way.
"The purple wig theory is all about learning to respect yourself," she says.
She aims this theory at middle school students and her other program "Mirror Mirror on the Wall" to elementary school classrooms.
In the future, we can expect more books from her and more programs while she spreads Shine Through as far as it can go.
"The entire program takes less than an hour, but it's really a never ending process. If you can learn to shine through you'll shine through the rest of your life."
