Since Lollapalooza started in 1991, there have been plenty of famous a-list bands who have performed there.
Nine Inch Nails, who are performing at this year's festival, also performed during the first Lollapalooza. The band was founded in 1988 by Trent Renzor. Today, he is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its direction. They are an industrial rock act. They have released eight major studio releases. Over years they have received a number of nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance, Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, Best Alternative Music Performance, and Best Metal Performance.
Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in 1992 and in 2006. This band was formed in 1983, probably before half of those reading this were born. RHCP has been through a lot of members over the years. But throughout all the problems, they still held together to make great music. Some of their songs can be currently played on Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Songs like "Give It Away" and "Under the Bridge" made them who they are today. The band received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year. Around for over 20 years, they are still going strong--the mark of a great band.
