Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero World Tour

Which one will you buy?

Written by: j. goldfarb – Posted: Fri Aug 1st, 2008

Guitar Hero World Tour is the next edition to the Guitar Hero family. While the game will continue to feature the use of a guitar-shaped controller to simulate the playing of rock music, Guitar Hero World Tour will be the first game of the Guitar Hero series to feature the drum and microphone controllers. Sounds like rock band if you ask me.

Like Rock Band 2, full four-player bands will be able to compete with other bands online in a "Battle of the Bands" mode. The game adds in an easy rhythm guitar difficulty that is aimed to teach younger children how to play the game.

The drum set for the game is a little different than the one used in Rock Band. Being used is a six-piece drum controller including two cymbal pads, a snare, two toms, and a bass drum pedal.

The coolest feature of World Tour is the music studio, where you'll be able to mix and create your own songs using a variety of professional effects. You'll also be able to share your songs online, so you could become a virtual rockstar overnight.

Each game will be compatible for Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Which game do you think you would buy? Let us know in the comments section!
