Lollapalooza: Day 3

Kanye West, Girl Talk and Mark Ronson do their thing.

The final act of the night was none other than Kanye West. If you read the Kiwibox coverage of Bonnaroo last month, you'd know that Kanye has some bad publicity surrounding his festival appearances, being that he came out over 2 hours late at the Nashville concert with his diva-like demands that everything be perfect. He came out late at Lolla as well, but only 5 minutes past his scheduled start time, showing that in his hometown of Chicago, he was willing to respect his audience. Opening with "Good Morning," Kanye delivered an aerobic performance that could have been billed as a run-through of hits, incorporating "Gold Digger," "Stronger," "Diamonds from Sierra Leone," "Through the Wire" and "Jesus Walks" into his set.

Kanye got a bit arrogant when he compared himself to James Brown and Jimi Hendrix, but he kept his banter to a minimum, making his field-filling crowd roar along to tracks like "Touch the Sky" and "Heard 'Em Say" during the hour-and-a-half long performance. A wonderful conclusion to the three-day festival, closing out the event with one of the most crowd-pleasing sets to grace Chicago that weekend.
