The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Mummies aren't so funny after all.

The Mummy franchise raked in $40 million with its third hit this weekend, the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and with its opening came a new adventure for Brendan Fraser and his cast who now took on China instead of Egypt. It has been seven years since the last Mummy adventure and they have definitely left something behind.

This adventure begins with a prologue set in 50 B.C. with only Chinese actors. Moving at a rapid pace, it introduces the dread emperor, modeled loosely on the real-life Qin Shi Huang, who left behind a huge army of terra cotta soldiers, and details the start of his rivalry with the immortal sorceress (Michelle Yeoh).

Then we fast forward to find Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn O'Connell (Maria Bello), both retired and bored at home. The two are eager at an opportunity to get back in the game when offered a chance to travel to Shanghai. There they are joined by their grown son, Alex (Luke Ford) and Evelyn's brother, Jonathon (John Hannah) when they are tricked into awakening the emperor (Jet Li).
