In order to get the best understanding of Call of Duty: World at War, you'll first have to forget everything you already know about WWII games. (And hey, if you don't know anything, even better.) Then, imagine the most extreme, uncensored war game known to man, with the most terrifying enemies you've ever encountered in a video game. This gives you a taste of what World at War is like, but it's something you truly have to experience for yourself.
The new game will throw players directly into South Pacific for the first time ever, and there's an all-new enemy that you should know about too. This time, you can choose to fight against the Japanese, who in real life were ruthless fighters that considered it a high honor to die in battle. As the U.S. Marines or Russian soldiers, you'll get to play in all of the pivotal battles of the war with some neat new features that Call of Duty never had before.
Using the C.O.D.4 engine, World at War has some of the most graphically intense gameplay you've ever seen. With the new Co-op play, you can head into battle with up to four players online. In competitive multiplayer, you'll earn experience points by completing various challenges. You can still utilize the local two-player split screen, and the Wii will support its own two-player online mode. No matter how you play online, you'll always be able to rank up by earning points and receiving perks along the way, so World at War is looking to have a hefty replay value.
It's already been announced that Kiefer Sutherland will be lending his voice to the game's main protagonist, Roebuck, so fans of 24 can rejoice.
Call of Duty: World at War is set for release on November 11th for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PS3, DS, and PC.
