The Starter Wife has been picked up for a full season. Based off a novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer, the series is about a 41-year-old wife and mother named Molly Kagan (Debra Messing) who gets her pampered life snatched away by her philandering husband Kenny (David Alan Basche). He is a powerful movie studio executive and Molly enjoyed a beautiful wealthy life at his side, until he leaves her for a woman half his age. Forced to start over again, both for her own sake and that of her daughter Jaden (Brielle Barbusca), Molly must learn to rely on herself. She is joined by her two best friends Joan (Judy Davis, who won an Emmy this year for the role), and Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos) who help her find the way to happiness ... and maybe to new love.
