Tired of just watching TV over the winter break? Want to feel like you are at least being a LITTLE productive? Well, for you, I've got a list of some great books to snuggle up to during the cold winter nights. These books are actually good for any time, but now is as good a time as any!!

1.) She's Come Undone by: Wally Lamb
This is my absolute favorite book. You have to be at least slightly mature to read this, as it has some matters that may make you uncomfortable. It is about the life of a girl, from childhood to adulthood. She deals with extreme over eating, lying, deaths, and much more. It is amazing because the ideas that the author writes about are so in depth and meaningful. This is definitely a book to read.

2.) Pride & Prejudice by: Jane Austin
Written in the 1800's, this is a timeless classic that talks of love and life. I have read it at least twice. In my opinion, it is Jane Austin's most exciting book (some of her books tend to drag on just a tad). Not only is it insightful, but parts of it are extremely funny, especially the character of the mother. The plot is sort of hard to explain, so just check it out for yourself.

3.) Twelfth Night - William Shakespeare
I have read this in English class, but even out of class it's a very cool story. Though plays were really meant to be seen not read, reading one is a rewarding experience. I would also suggest renting one of the video versions or going to see the production if it is put on at a nearby theater. It is really funny. If you are into acting, you will especially enjoy it.

Happy reading!!

I agree with the person below, Lurlene Mcdaniel is my favorite
author. She writes amazing tories and all of them I would
recommend. Some of her better ones Telling Christina Goodbye,
Don't Die My Love, and The Girl Death Left Behind.
read it before you go see the movie.. it'll be worthit
my all time favorite author is lurlene mcdaniel. her books are
really sad. they're about teens with serious illness and how they
deal with them. they really give you things to think about.

I'd reccomend A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, like some one did above.
And then there is, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by
Rebecca Wells. All should read this wonderful story. Ride the
elephant in life.
Mousey
Has anyone ever heard of a set of 7 books called ~The Cronicles of
Narnia~? Well anyway, I have only read one ~The Magician's Nephew~
but it was really good. See, I accidentally realy book 7 instead
of book 1 first so I got really confused.I am now starting to read
book one though, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." The
author is C.S. Lewis
~Bookworm~:)
Another great book is ~The Black Pearl~ read it and be amazed. I
guarantee it. :)
I loved the book "The Outsiders" too. It was really good, and I
cried. The movie made me cry even more. Well, I have a really good
book to suggest to all you book worms out there. It is called
"Walk Two Moons." It is a great book and one of my favorites. I
won't tell any of the details. It is like mystery, suspense,
giving, beleiving, and happiness. Good luck!!!!!!! :)
yeah, but you read the Outsiders at 11...
My favorite books are 'the vampire chronicals' by Anne Rice. their
a set of 8 books about vampires. Their not quite horror stories,
but they can be kinda greusome at times. If you read one you'll
want to read them all!! I recomend any book by Anne Rice but the
vampire chronicals are the best!! they are in order:Interview With
The Vampire; The Vampire Lestat; The Queen of the Damned; The Tale
of the Body Thief; Memnoch The Devil. And 'The New Tales of the
Vampires' : Pandora; Vitorio the Vampire; and The Vampire Armand.
If you read any of these e-mail me and tell me what you think of
them! kool_katt2002@yahoo.com
Hi y'all!! A good series of books you might consider reading are
the "Redwall" books. If u like animals, u will like these books!!!
They are about animals that live in peoples' places in medieval
times. They r really kewl!!!

Keep it real an' stay 'N SYNC!!!
I think the quartet series Circle Of Magick by Tamora Pierce is
relly good. You get hooked in the first one and you have to go out
and get the other three right away.
Another great book is ON THE ROAD by Jack Kerouack, and A TREE
GROWS IN BROOKLYN. Both are very awesome books, definetely worth
the read
The "outsiders" is the coolest book!! It is about the life of a
bunch of boys also know as greasers and about socs. which jump the
greasers. i know it sounds really dumb but this book is awsome! It
is really deep and it made me cry! i loved this book and i think u
would too!! PLease read it!!!!!! ~thanxs
another good book by wally lamb is "i know this much to be true."
it's awsome! trust me. it's got a little of everything in
it...including a little skitzo.
Read anything by Joyce Carol Oates. She is excellent! If you're
just getting into her writing, I suggest some of her books of
short stories, such as "Where is Here?" and "Haunted: Tales of the
Grotesque." "Foxfire" is excellent too. I loved "She's Come
Undone!" Also Sue Townsend is a great author too.
i suggest the lord of the rings series by j.r.r. tolkien. they are
excellent books but take a while to read. so if you've got the
time, check them out! my email's rhinoa_hartley@hotmail.com
drop me a line :)
I was so shocked when I came here and you guys had it as #1! It's
really really really good. Makes you think alot, though I'd
suggest only reading it with an... open mind I guess. It's a
little perverted. I also loved Rob Thomas books (no, not the
matchbox 20 guy) mostly "Slave Day". I forced all my friends to
read them and they got hooked. It turned to us always fighting
over who got to check the newest one out of the library and
stuff.. I know we stepped back and were thinking what total losers
we were being =( ! Oh well they ar really good. Also read Barbera
Kingsolver books. "Pigs In Heaven" is my fav.
I think you should buy or check out from the library all 3 Harry
Potter books if you haven't already yet. You'll probably finish
them all by the time Winter Break is over. The titles are Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I really
enjoyed these books and I'm sure you will too.
Hey if your looking for good books to read i suggest any books
written by lurlene mcdaniel. She's a great author and although the
books are sad and they WILL make you cry they also make you think
about things too!! if you need any suggestiong for books by her

A great book to read during the long wait is a book about the
children growing up in Northern Ireland, they explain how the
Troubles have had an impact on their lives. The writer is the same
one as the woman who wrote "Children in the Holocaust and WW2:
Their Secret Diaries". The book is called "Children of the
Troubles: Our lives in the Crossfire of Northern Ireland" and it
is written by Laurel Holliday. If you are into poetry, you should
read Collected Poems by W.B. Yeats, they are enchanting.
Another Great read is Mother Of Pearl!
another good one is S.E hinton's Outsiders
