jumpseats

  • 06/07/11 3:36 am

the flight was full so guess how lucky we were. we got the two jump seats. thats the two in the cockpit. since my dad works in sri lankan air lines, he came to drop us right into the plane and spoke with the pilots. they were so nice and kind. one pilot kept calling us 'these guys' and when going through clouds and all it was so perfect. the seats weren't uncomfortable at all. when eating it was a bit annoying since we had to keep the tray on our laps, but other than that it was the best thing ever. the sunset was beautiful, the orange creeping through the clouds. it was lightening and raining here but the flight was pretty smooth. i really enjoyed the flight and would sit in there every time i fly, if only they would let me.

we got here at around 10, and my grandmother and mother were up. went to bed at 12 something after wishing my cousin sister. its her birthday today. was up early at 6 something, and my cousin brother from my dads side will be coming today to get his phone. a bit tired so i didnt go to school today. will be going tomorrow, my holiday has really come to an end. had tea today after 10 days, i think. we only had coffee in bangkok. cant wait to have a nice sri lankan meal. thai food is good, but nothing like what you are used to.

another day of another month

  • 06/05/11 3:18 pm

hi,

uneventful day. was up quite early since my brother decided to set the alarm for 7 in the morning. who does that? then went with my dad and brother to get some stuff. then have some really awesome crabs for lunch. then back to MBK to get a new phone for my step mum. then back home. my dad had to leave for this dinner. so the three of us went to this awesome small place across the street for dinner. i had chicken friend rice, they had shrimp fried rice. i love that place. awesome! got back and am thinking of going to bed early. it 10 something and really, is it worth staying up? oh well!

pattaya and indians

  • 06/04/11 3:20 pm

hello!

got back from pattaya just a few hours ago. the place was perfect. the beach was so beautiful and soft. no waves cutting your skin. except that the salt water made my feet smart, a bit. the seafood was pretty good. prawns, squid, crab. really nice. though once i get back to SL i dont want to even see fish! i need a lot of vegetables and finally no more using a fort and spoon.

the bad part of the two day, one night trip was that, we were thought to be indians. now any indians reading this, dont be offended. this is just my opinion. see indians are widely thought to be loud,  insistent and bossy. they eat indian food when abroad. i mean, why eat your own food when there is a whole variety, new, to be explored. am not saying that eating the unknown is a must but oh well! who am i to judge anyway.

now the thing about being thought to be indian over here is being verbally abused, made fun of and in plain, just disliked. when we went parasailing, out on the deck, this thai guy greeted us in hindhi so my dad told him that we were from sri lanka. suddenly his attitude changes and he's less rude, more concerned. he wanted to know what run is in sinhala, and told my dad, brother and me to "duwanna" instead of run. it lasted only a minute or so, being up in the sky and it was my first time. but it was like being free, i guess thats how monks feel like when meditating. i was a bt freaked ut because my step mum didnt go and my dad and brother left the place before me. so i was on that platform alone, with a thai guy holding my hand! but he was kind and knew it was my first time.

then another bumpy boat ride to coral is land (it was raining, so the sea was rough) there we just rested. the beach was fine, except this weird orange fish like thing that freaked my step mum and me! then we got back to the hotel, left pattaya at around  5 and here we are. just got in after dinner, chicken fried rice and orange juice. no ice cream, my brother has a cold, my head hurts!

we also went for this show, transsexuals, dancing. and i feel so jealous, those girls are beautiful. not just, but actual beauty! and such a lovely show. beatiful dances, perfect costumes. loved it.

so our bangkok trip is coming to an end, which is sad. i think i changed somewhat. i dont hate anymore. my father is happy with her, maybe everything happened fr the best. and she's not all that bad. she loves to read, she loves psychology. and she's thoughtful. so there, i accepted the fact that i was wrong all this time. forget being wrong, but also stupid. by drowning in all that hatred we are actually putting ourself through so much pain. so anyway, i'll miss the place that i actually call home in a way. though my dad will be leaving it all in a few more years. the people here, their big smiles and kindness. all good things come to an end, dont they? but i will most probably come back during my holidays, so i mayn't be saying goodbye for forever.

last few pages of "god's callgirl" lovely book and great storyy. i cant imagine having to live such a life. being a nun, where you have to obey rules, please others, being a prostitute, meaning nothing to the men who use you. feeling so useless, unloved!

talking about my friend in one of my earlier posts worked. he sent me a message :D
