The guys of Forever The Sickest Kids could've never imagined this success when they were on the same wrestling team back in high school. The six man group from Dallas, Texas is comprised of vocalist Jonathan Cook, Austin Bello on bass, Kyle Burns on drums, Kent Garrison on keyboards and Marc Stewart and Caleb Turman, both on guitar. Formed in 2006, the boys have come a long way. They released their debut album, Underdog Alma Mater, over a year ago and have been touring all over the U.S. ever since.

That's not all. FTSK collaborated with Disney sensation Selena Gomez for a re-recording of their single "Whoa-Oh (Me VS. Everyone)" and they performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Not to mention, the sextet were on the cover of Alternative Press, the music magazine every emerging rock band dreams of being featured in. "I've been reading it for a long time and some of the other guys have been to o and to be on the cover is just, overwhelming. We're re ally blessed to be where we are," Kent said of the recent success.

Along with the AP, being a part of The Vans Warped Tour that has been held every summer since 1995 is a monumental stride for alternative rock, pop punk and punk rock bands everywhere. This sweaty teen guaranteed festival is a music lover's dream. It was FTSK's third year rocking the stage and the boys recall when they attended the concert themselves, "Growing up, I would've given my life just to play one show at Warped Tour, let alone be on the main stage," Kent said.  Marc agreed, "You get to be where you watched people be six years ago." Caleb chimed in, "Warped Tour was the first time I ever went crowd surfing. Actually, it was one of my first concerts I ever went to."

Besides, making moves in the touring and media world, the guys are working hard in the studio. For their follow up album, FTSK is taking an alternate route. Instead of the traditional method, they are creating three different EPs that will be released one after another. The first of this trilogy, entitled The Weekend: Friday will be released this week, November 17th and the other two The Weekend: Saturday and The Weekend: Sunday will be coming out in 2010. Caleb spoke of the albums to come, "For each EP, we intend on having a different sound completely."

When it comes to  musical influences, Caleb shouted out names like The Beatles and The Strokes whereas Marc stayed true to Third Eye Blind. Kent spoke for the band, "Half of us listen to rap. Half of us listen to indie. Half of us listen to pop." Their mish mash of musical tastes maybe explains why their own music has been put in various categories such as pop punk, emo, power pop, etc. When asked to clarify their genre, the three said at almost the same time, "It's just music." With that answer, it's hard to deny that the guys of Forever The Sickest Kids are in it for the real thing.
