One of the best movies of all time, Casablanca, brought us one of the greatest film romances ever seen. The love affair between Rick and Ilsa is most memorable because of its torture. After having a brief affair in Paris, the couple meets again (by chance) in Casablanca. This time, Ilsa is married and looking to escape a war torn country with her husband and Rick is the only one who can help them. Rick is torn between his love for Ilsa and doing what is right.






Rhett and Scarlett (Gone with the Wind)

This epic Civil War movie isn't just about the struggles of war; it's also about the struggles of love. Rhett and Scarlett do not hit it off immediately. In fact, at the beginning of the movie, Scarlett confesses her love to another man. Rhett and Scarlett have a tumultuous relationship. Scarlett slaps Rhett numerous times in protest of what she thinks is rude behavior. Watching their volatile romance transform through such difficult times is what makes their love so memorable.



Danny and Sandy (Grease)

After falling in love over the summer, the two love birds didn't think they would see each other again. When Sandy shows up at Rydell High Danny is caught off guard. In an attempt to maintain his tough guy image Danny pretends not to care that Sandy is back in his life. After splitting and attempting to go their separate ways, Danny and Sandy both realize that they are still in love. This classic high school musical shows how difficult being in love can be for a teenager.






Jack and Rose (Titanic)

Titanic is one of the top grossing films of all time and the romance between Jack and Rose definitely played a major role in that. From the beginning we know the couple is headed for doom. They meet on the ill-fated ship and have a whirlwind love affair. Jack brings out the fun loving and tenacious side of Rose, making her feel free and happy. Their love is short lived but changes Rose forever.



Noah and Allie (The Notebook)

The Notebook is possibly one of the most heart wrenching love stories ever put to film. We watch Noah and Allie's romance triumph through family disapproval, years of separation and eventual sickness. Their love for each other truly conquers all. The chemistry between the actors, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, is undeniable and helps bring the love to life for the audience.
