Paul Wall Exclusive InterviewThe Southern rapper gets introspective on his new album "Fast Life."While you might know Paul Wall for his Southern swagger and glittery mouthful of metal, his forthcoming album Fast Life promises to reveal a much deeper side to the self-proclaimed People's Champ. His fourth official solo effort, set to be released on May 12 in a joint venture between Swishahouse and Asylum Records, features typical rough talking jams like album single "Bizzy Body" and scant club banger "Lemon Drop," but it's where he gets introspective that we get to know him on a more personal level. He's got a song dedicated to his mom where he reflects on being raised in a single parent household and getting adopted by his stepfather, while another digs into the hardship of getting put on as a respected emcee. Fast Life shows Paul at his most sincere, an album packed with equally as many radio-ready hits that fans have to come to love as there are vulnerable jams that humanize the man behind the mic. Paul Wall was recently in New York City to do the press rounds for his forthcoming album, talking exclusively with Kiwibox.com about why he waited this long in his career to make his rhymes more personal. Sitting in the conference room of Asylum Records, Paul Wall chatted with Kiwibox Editor Steven about what sort of songs we can expect to make the final cut of Fast Life, whether or not there are plans set in stone to record an official album under Expensive Taste (his group with Skinhead Rob and Travis Barker), why he would love to hook back up with Chamillionaire for another full-length mixtape or album, how his wife ended up as a featured personality on E!'s Rapper Wives, how the show will convey him as the family man he truly is, why he hasn't really had to cut back on spending due to the state of the economy and what else we can expect from him in the near future.
