End in Sight for Desperate Housewives
The women of Wisteria Lane are looking at the end of the road.
Desperate Housewives creator and executive producer Marc Cherry announced Thursday he will end the hit series after seven seasons.
Speaking to the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles, he was coy about what might be coming up in the next season, the fifth.
The series resumes Sept. 28 with new cast addition Neil McDonough, who will be the romantic interest for Edie Britt played by Nicolette Sheridan. Her character, who was kicked off the lane last season, will resurface, Cherry said.
But Cherry said he's ready to wrap up the tangled web of stories featuring the women after the seventh season.
"We're going to get out while people still like us," he said.
