Settling into his role as a doting dad, Clay Aiken says he's been a complete hands-on parent. "It was probably a week before [the baby's mother] had to change a diaper at all!" the American Idol favorite tells Entertainment Tonight.

"I'm trying my best to be the one who doesn't always let him get what he wants, but he owns us."

Back on Broadway as Sir Robin for the final weeks of Monty Python's Spamalot, Aiken, 30, says returning to the stage will afford him more time with 31/2-month-old Parker and good friend - and the baby's mother - Jaymes Foster.

who are any of u to tell eachother u are wrong? it's their opinion. and fyi, apparently not many ppl agree that being gay is ok...since prop 8 won the majority over n all...heck, racism is still around! no offense, but even if being gay makes the world a more beautiful place, it's starting to look uglier these days despite sexual orientation issues. i think aiken would be a good father. i have a feeling his kid is gonna grow up to be a softie...not that it's a bad thing, but his dad looks so gentle-like and careful. idk... and uh who's the lady?

I don't care if someone is gay or straight. I herd on the news a few months back, a lady killed her baby by putting it in a microwave. Most straight people cannot even take care of their children! As long as that child is loved and taken care of, sexual orientation should not be an issue...

I can't believe how ignorant some people can be, referring to sugarspicy and ilovepink, of course. Seriously, good luck in the world if that's the way you look at things. As for Clay Aiken, that doesn't surprise me at all. He looks like he'd be a great dad

People who think the way Sugarspicy and ilovepink do keep the world from becoming a more beautiful place. If I want to raise a child with the person I love and I have the means to do so then I will and no one's going to tell me I'm wrong for that. Aiken is a prime example of how it can work. There's no guarantee that anyone will make a wonderful parents so everyone deserves a reasonable chance. He's doing a great job and you have to give him credit for that, sexual orientation aside.

lol at mylittlebrains. it's a shame that people like sugarspicy are soo ignorant. but they're probably never going to change, so i guess just let them live in their little ignorant fantasy world.

sugarspicy that comment was very inappropriate. Why don't you do some research on gay parents? There is no connection between individuals that are homosexual that have children of there own that become homosexual nor do they have "messed up" lifestyles. The styles are different from what you know or how you have been raised. I do not feel that homosexuals chose the lifestyle of being gay. And telling them that they should just be heterosexual and have a typical family is crazy. You can't just change your life style. I think that Clay Aiken is doing a wonderful thing by taking care of his child. More individuals need to realize that being a parent does not just mean taking care of them and giving them what they want, but it also deals with spending time with them and being there for them.

btw, i love that clay is such a hands on dad. more dads need to be as involved with their kids!
Posted: Tue Dec 02nd , 2008
sugarspicy, that comment was completely uncalled for and rude. being gay is not a choice, and it's not 'messed up.' i am much more fearful of a world where children like you are raised ignorantly, than a world where gays raise children.

I'm not a Clay Aiken fan at all, but I think it's great he's such a loving parent. I don't believe being gay is a choice, nor can I agree that just because one is gay that they have messed up lifestyles. I think that just because somebody is a homosexual, doesn't mean they won't or can't be loving parents to a child. But...It's just my opinion and what I feel...To each their own.

I agree with Sugarspicy.
Posted: Tue Dec 02nd , 2008
oh well when you put it that way. brb gonna be heterosexual now.
Posted: Tue Dec 02nd , 2008
I just don't understand why homosexuals always want children. Why bring a child into your messed up life? You chose a lifestyle that does not allow you to have children. Why try to find ways to have them? Why not just be heterosexual and have children?
