While I'm making an entry, I might as well update. This weekend was a bit crazy. Friday we didn't really get a lot accomplished, work-wise. But I did go to the gym, at least! That evening we went to a Halloween party at a friends house. We were there from 6-12, which is way too long to be in one place like that.. and I dislike parties, anyway. I started having a somewhat good time towards the end but then more people started showing up so I wanted to leave. A bit anti-social :/ Well, not really, I just can't stand crowds of people unless I'm at a show or something. I don't want to be stuck in a house with like 100+ college kids. No thanks.

Saturday Brandon & I got up and showered, got dressed and went for lunch at Wasabi's. Yummm. I got edamame, a ginger salad and a savannah sunrise roll which is spicy tuna on top of an avocado/cucumber roll. Delicious. Brandon got like 6 different things, it was kind of ridiculous! Guess he was hungry? Haha. He paid for me though so that was sweet <3

After we got out of there, I went to Alexander Hall to get some ceramics work done. Our platters were out of the glaze-fire, so we went and checked them out. I'm not happy with how mine came out at all, really.. the colors so didn't work and it just.. didn't really turn out how I wanted. I think I was trying to do too much with the glazes. Lesson learned. Too bad, too, cause it's a sweet ass design.

I worked on the wheel for a little while trimming my mugs and bowls and then I had to throw a new bowl because I fucked one up trimming. Then I cut the slabs for our "pouring container" project and put handles on my mugs. Then around 4:45 we were finished.

I went home & dyed my hair and then went to Brandon's around 8 to chill until this party we were going to started. I watched the beginning of game 3 of the world series and then we left for the party around 10. I actually kind of enjoyed this one because there weren't that many people and it was outside, so not so claustrophobic haha. We left at midnight though because I had to get up at 7:30 to go to work again.

Speaking of work, it's about that time! Hope you all have a good one!

hey everyone.

So yesterday was a rather disappointing day.. well not the whole day, just the whole ruining my film part. Yeah, alllll that film I shot in Radford over the weekend.. well 75% of it is fucked up because I left my box of film OPEN while developing, forgot that it was open and cut the light on. Didn't even realize it for about 10 minutes, then turned around and saw that box and my heart just sank.

I guess it works out, kind of, because at the midterm conference with my photo professor she wanted me to go back and shoot some more.. so I guess now I have no choice! She likes my idea though and thinks it will turn out well, so at least that's good. It's just going to be hell trying to get all of these prints done and matted before the critique. I will be getting very little sleep until the end of the quarter!

After I exposed my film and ruined it, I went and told her about it and she was nice enough to give me two partial boxes of film, probably a total of 60-70 sheets of film, which is worth like $75, so that was super awesome. People just randomly give her film, so she has plenty to spare. Thank goodness, because I could definitely not afford any more of that. I'm not getting hardly any hours of work and I probably won't be able to pay my rent at the end of November :[ I have money in my savings but I was really trying not to use it.. looks like I will have to.

Yesterday after class I went to my house for a bit and then went over to Brandon's before he got out of class so we could go get lunch when he was finished. We went to JO's and ate, then came back to his house for a while. I ended up falling asleep around 2:30 and he let me nap until 3:45 then woke me up so we could go to Alexander Hall to get some work done. He worked for a couple hours and left, and I was there until 6:30. I am making progress on my projects, which is good. I felt so behind, so I think I am getting a grip on things. I need to have both project 3 and 4 completely finished and ready to go in the kiln before I leave to go back to Radford possibly next Wednesday. I will be spending a lot of time at Alexander this weekend. I guess it also works out that I only have one day of work..

In other, much more unfortunate news, everyone needs to please keep Chantelle (AbstractEyes on here), her fiancee TJ and their daughter Melina in your thoughts/prayers. TJ got in a horrible car accident last Saturday and has a lot of pretty terrible injuries. I don't want to go into details because I feel like it's not my place, just please keep them in your thoughts. I love you Chantelle! <3

Hope you all are having a good day!

Two entries in a row, I’m on a roll!

Yesterday was pretty good.. worked on the wheel for a while in ceramics but only got two mugs done :/ Now I have to hope that I don’t screw them up while I’m trimming them, like I did the first three, haha. I will be spending a good amount of time at that building today.. I need to get 6 mugs and 2 bowls done as soon as possible! I also have a ‘pouring container’ to design. I need to bring in drawings & a paper model for tomorrow’s class. ALLLL of this MUST be done by next Thursday to go in the kiln, or it will not get done and I will fail. Haha. It will get done :]

This morning I have a midterm conference in Large Format… Kara said that our professor made her cry. She’s 30 years old and our professor made her bawl her eyes out! That pretty much makes me nervous as hell, but I think I’ll be okay. I have already shot my final, so she better like it! We are supposed to be presenting our ‘ideas’ for our final. I’m pretty sure I’ll be okay though because my professor and I shoot essentially the same subjects … shit that is falling apart. Haha. I think it will work out. We’ll see! I have a ton of film to develop, and I must get printing immediately! These next few weeks are going to be busy.

Last night after class was good :] Brandon and I came home and ate some leftovers for dinner.. he had curry and I had barbecue chicken.. yumm! Then we were just silly and played around and laughed a lot. Those nights are the best :] I watched Biggest Loser & he got started working on his final project for Digital Page & Web.

Nothing else really to report, so I figured I would post a few wedding pictures from the most recent one that I shot in September! They turned out pretty well :]

Love this family! <3

I had so much fun with those two! They are such awesome people and an even more amazing family! I love their love :]

Anyway, I need to get up at 7 am so time for bed! Hope you all have a great day!

How has it been 10 days since I updated?!

This past weekend I went up to Radford to shoot for my photo final and visit Heather! I left Wednesday afternoon and got there around 10 pm. We were both pretty tired so we just caught up for an hour or two and then went to bed. I slept so well, her couch is comfy!

Thursday morning I got up at 8:00 and waited for Heather to get up. I wanted to be out of the house by 9 but I don't think we got out of there until just before 10, haha. We just got on route 8 and drove towards Floyd. We were looking for the pumpkin patch we went to last year called Sinkland Farms, but it turns out we should have gone left where we turned right, so we just ended up in downtown Floyd.

Since we were there, we stopped for some photos and then ate at this Mexican restaurant that is there. They have the best guacamole I've ever had at any mexican place. Yummm!

After lunch we drove a few more miles south and then we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is so gorgeous up there! I could drive that parkway forever. Around 3:30 I think we headed back to Radford because I was out of film and needed to reload before going to the pumpkin patch. We were at Heather's for about 30 minutes, then we went to Sinkland Farms. I was going to get a pumpkin but the ones I wanted were a little too expensive so I just didn't get one. We did take a lot of pictures and walk around the farm, though. It got dark before we could do the corn maze and the petting zoo, though. We still had a good time :]

That evening we got Subway for dinner and eventually made it over to Conor's house for a halloween/homecoming party? Neither of us really like being around a lot of people so we were pretty much there just to say hi to Conor and talk for a while.. we stayed about 20 minutes then went back to Heather's. Brent kept trying to get me to come out to a party where he was but I.. don't like parties! So I didn't go.

Friday we slept in because the weather said that it was going to pour its ass off .. but when I woke up around 11:30 the sun was out! So pissed.. that was like 4 hours of wasted could-have-been-shooting time. Oh, well. We got ourselves together and then decided to head to her parents' house to take pictures up around there.

We got there and visited with her dad for a while, then we took her dog and went out shooting for a couple of hours. It got dark quickly, though, cause it was so cloudy & gross. We got back to her parents house and watched Into the Wild, which was amazing.. can't believe I've never seen it before. Then we drove the 90 minute drive back to Radford.

The rest of the night we just hung out.. Brent once again tried to get me to come to a party he was at and I, once again! did not go. Haha. I was going to stop by but he never finished telling me where he lived so I just went to sleep.

Saturday morning I woke up just after 10:30 and ate breakfast, showered and then woke Heather up around 11:30/12. Brent popped up on facebook chat and yelled at me for not stopping by the night before, haha. Then he told me he was picking me up and we were going out to lunch somewhere, so we did. We went to a mexican restaurant called Mi Puerto.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I had seen him! I think the last time was the first year I moved to the beach.. so I guess it had been nearly 4 years! Crazy how time flies. It was good to see him though, he's got a girlfriend and seems like he's doing well and pretty much knows what he wants to do when he graduates, so good for him! He is still a bit of a sarcastic asshole but I don't think that will ever go away, hahaha.

Heather and I looked up our very first kiwi entries when I was at her house.. talk about nostalgia! Geeeeeze. It was kind of crazy. I don't even want to link you guys to mine because it's so embarrassing, haha! Thank god I have grown up.. that's all I have to say.

Class registration was yesterday for me. I signed up for Project Seminar I, Photo History 2 and Shakespeare. All of my classes are on Monday/Wednesdays, so my schedule will be like this:

8:00 - 10:30 AM : Project Seminar
2:00 - 4:30 PM : Photo History 2
5:00 - 7:30 PM : Shakespeare

That is going to be a loooong day, but hopefully I will be able to nap in between my 8 am class and my 2 pm class. Plus I have Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays off so I can sleep then! .. If I'm not working, I guess.

Anyway, time to go get these wedding photos in the mail to Krystal & Blake! Hope everyone is doing well <3

So it's nearly 1 AM and I really should be sleeping, considering I have to get up at 7:30 to go to work.. but there is a TON of commotion going on outside and the roommates are still up so I figured I would come & make an update to waste some time and wait for everything to settle down so I can actually sleep.

Brandon and I just got back from South Carolina about an hour ago. We drove up there Thursday night and chilled at his house for the remainder of the evening, which was nice. Yesterday morning we got up around 9:30, showered, ate breakfast, then headed to the state fair in Columbia!

We got there around 11:45ish I think, and checked out some of the displays in the buildings. The rose exhibition was closed for judging and we forgot to go back later, but they looked pretty from a distance! We rode a few rides and he got me to go on a couple I had never done before.. one of which was starship.. and I didn't like it at all haha. I needed a break after that, so we did a couple of the fun houses and stuff. They had a skyride there too so that was pretty awesome! Went across the whole fair.. we rode it a couple of times :]

We went to see livestock, which is always fun. They had a petting zoo & I pet lots and lots of animals! And I saw an elephant.. you could ride the elephant but I was kind of scared plus it cost money that I didn't have. We saw little baby duckies that were sooo cute, and they had a water slide that they usually hop right on and go down but I guess it was their first day on the job and didn't quite know what was supposed to happen yet so they were all timid, haha.

After the animals, we went & had lunch. I had an amazing Greek Salad for lunch and all he had were some Fiske fries, which he is apparently obsessed with, but not as much as the smoked Turkey legs! Haha :]

To let our food settle before we went on a few more rides, we went into the building that has all the crafts & vendors and stuff. I bought some jordan almonds and he ended up buying a couple of different sauces and some wild game jerky. I think that's it..

After the vendors, we rode a couple more rides, including the swings and one ride that you laid down on & felt like you were flying, which was really cool haha. Then I got ice cream, he went & bought his sauces, and then he got a turkey leg on the way out & we were off!

We left early so that I could go to Sumter to the Swan Lake Iris Gardens and take some photographs for Large Format. It almost didn't quite work out because his mom sent us in the wrong direction at first so it wasted about 45 minutes unfortunately, and we were already on a tight schedule as far as daylight went :[ But we eventually got there and I think I took 6 or 7 photos and then they kicked me out. They were literally calling my name over the loudspeakers throughout the park teling me I had 10 minutes and they were locking me in, hahahaha. They were pretty cool about it, though, apparently Brandon talked to them for a while.

He and I drove back to his parent's house and packed up our stuff and ate some soup, then we were on our way around 8:30. While we were driving I mentioned that I noticed things had been much better between us this week and asked what switch had flipped in his head, because I liked it. Haha. He said that he just started trying again.. and I was like how about let's keep it that way? I told him that I had felt pretty taken for granted and I told him that I felt like he thought I was just going to be there all the time no matter what, and that he had me really really close to leaving him.. but like I said, things have been a thousand times better this week and I think he learned his lesson :P For now.. :]

Anyway, seems as if things have calmed down and I'm getting really tired, so goodnight!
