Well last night was quite interesting. Marie & I went to the movies again and saw P&P. I'll admit last week I wasn't the most excited to see it, but I did it for Marie and knew that since she saw this movie 6 times already that it had to be good so I went and loved it. Last night I didn't need to be asked to go; I basically asked her. This time the movie made more sense and I picked up on a lot of stuff that I missed the first time. Different looks of the eyes and eyebrows and the way the characters come and go during the movie are some of the things I picked up better last night. I still feel for Mr Darcy though; he's a very shy fellow like myself and people that are socially superior just don't understand how hard it is for us to be at their level. The fear of embarrassing ourselves is very great and the stress and nervousness you experience is something you don't want to experience. I've never seen a movie with a character whom I can relate with so much so it's one reason why I like the movie very much. The best scene however (and Marie will agree with me in a way) is when after Liz tells him to take his own advice and practice (practice talking and being sociable) then he comes flying through a door and just stands there all nervous while trying to talk with her. I felt so bad for him. But of course he does get her in the end as it should be which made me cry. I'm so pathetic in public; I almost cried last week when I saw it but last night it was just too much. But it shows how good the movie is and how much I was into it. I'm hoping Marie and I can see it later this week before they take it out of the theaters. After the movie we went to dinner at Applebees and met up with Greg, Don and Richie and we had a nice dinner across from the bar where they were sitting. Then I took her home and got online to hear that Jeff wasn't very happy that we were out. I'm not even going to get into that here; that's a whole entry in itself.

Today's been pretty boring; just watching train tapes (of course! what the hell else would I do on my day off lol) and recording sound bites from them onto the computer to save. Then Marie saved me and wanted to go out to lunch at Dennys, where we hadn't been in awhile and had a nice lunch. But she had to go to work so we left and I came home and watched our beloved Man Utd play Arsenal. It finished 0-0 but wasn't dull; the goalies played well and neither team just couldn't pull all the way through for a goal; still we lost 2 pts on Chelsea. It's all over as far as I'm concerned but I won't give up; plus I need to get back equal with Marie for our fantasy teams; I'll admit she's kicking my rearend this year and I'm quite impressed, but I still have some tricks up my sleeve! After the game, I've just been loping around all evening getting little things done. But now it's time to take a shower and get ready for bed so that's all for now.

Well today we had our New years day shindig at Greg's house and as always it was a blast. There weren't as many people there then there normally is but maybe it was just me. There were about 15-20 of us and to just be associated with these people make me feel so good I can't even express it with words. Some of the people showed their slides and movies (I had my 30 min presentation ready but couldn't show it because the cd/dvd's didn't work in Greg's playstation but some of them did see it on the computer and were throughly impressed). Some of the guys I normally don't talk with as much I got to sit down and talk with and hopefully get to be closer friends with them then it has been in the past. But all in all a great day. I wanna write more but it's almost 2:30am so I'm heading off to bed shortly. After 12 hours of partying I need some sleep!

Well a big happy new year to everyone! All I have to say about tonight is, if this year is going to be like how tonight was, it's going to be one fun year. But these three lines pretty much sum up tonight:

Dinner at Friday's downtown: $25
Drinks at 2 bars and cover at another: $20
Being with my brother, railfan buddies and my best friends for the balldrop at midnight: PRICELESS

I've been hoping to do this for awhile now, go downtown on new year's eve and tonight was everything I was hoping for and more. Marie, Michele, Shaun & I went to Friday's on Main st. for dinner. It was hiliarious in there; we had a great view of Main st. and the metro rail cars going by us. Well right before our food came the one train went by and this one guy was running his brains out behind it trying to catch the train to the next station. Absolutely hiliarious stuff. Dinner was very good and very funny; all four of us were firing shots at each other and none of us cared at all. We then went along Chippewa where all the bars are downtown and first went to Spot coffee because we had to burn some time (where we ran into Mike; but that's a whole different story) then across the street to the one bar for drinks. We were there for bout a half an hour then went over to another bar to watch this one band play whose bass player my brother knows. They were awesome; didn't start until 11pm actually (disappointingly as well) but the music was great. I hope Marie, Michele & Shaun liked it half as much as I did. Then we headed over to the ball drop. We were able to meet up with my brother and a few other of my friends and it was pure bedlam down there. I just savored the moment; it was just breathtaking. It's one thing to watch it on tv; another being there. After the excellent fireworks display, I was going to give Michele a piggyback ride on my back when she proceeded to basically jump on me and we went crashing to the ground on the sidewalk. I cut my knee pretty bad but we were laughing hysterically. I wish someone could have gotten it on video. She felt so bad about it but I could care less. It just summed the night up; no matter what happened we were going to enjoy ourselves and just have fun. Then we dropped Shaun off and went to Michele's for a couple munchies. All in all just a great night and I hope tonight is a good sign for the new year that's upon us. I just wanna wish everyone a happy and prosperus new year!
