Kent Rune Henriksen
You read articles, just like the thoughts expressed and post a comment appreciating it. The next thing you know, your comment may be then a thread of comments in which you have been termed from your douche bag as to the not. No, it's nothing personal; it is just that you have been trolled!

Those days are gone when slandering was the forte with the big bully and pranks and practical jokes must be resorted to embarrass people or trigger them with a fight. With internet to be the latest toy of toddlers and it is availability being more than this of water, its wrong use was somewhat inevitable. Kent Rune Henriksen Twitter

Troll finds it origin in the French hunting term of troller. In internet terms, it refers to an individual who posts indecent comments, extraneous messages on online forums with all the goal of eliciting response from the body else or triggering him into a web-based battle. It could also reference the messages posted, as an example: "stop posting trolls on my article."
The verb of trolling is quick gathering popularity, with folks discovering it an excellent medium to vent out their anger against someone and cause public defamation. After all, you are able to escape prying eyes, however you can't escape the omni present internet! Trolls are often posted on online communities, the place where a sane and regular discussion gets disrupted by a troll looking for shallow recognition.

But with changing times, even trolling has gained acceptance like a fun activity, with lots of websites gathering trolls from various forums. However this is appropriate as long as it does not cause harm to someone or infringe on someone's privacy.

Internet slang has now arrive at become a part of regular language and it wouldn't be a shock if someone day a dedicated dictionary hits it shelves. Today's children are effortlessly as well as unintentionally conversing in internet slang during regular talks. Now it is commonplace to get a 'lol' being a response to a tale or perhaps an 'OMG' with a comment which earlier received an easy and understandable 'Oh my God'. Internet slang generally comprises of abbreviations in order to allow fingers the freedom from your pain of writing full statements and make chatting faster. It's got made its way to SMS and instant messengers too. Therefore if, in the middle of the night, a forwarded joke from the side gets that you simply reply of 'rofl', just hope how the person didn't hurt himself as he rolled on floor laughing! And if one is excessively boring otherwise you experienced the displeasure of encountering a troll, just squeeze the right path out with a 'brb', only not to be back.

Besides abbreviations, internet slang also includes emoticons, the most recent method of expressing your emotions with the aid of brackets, colons- practically every key that your keyboard is offering. And of course, it shouldn't shock parents, who when scolding their teenage kids, be given a trite 'do not troll me' repartee!
Internet slang originated from the use and popularity of internet messengers and chatting. Trolling too developed as result of the net phenomenon and also the following frenzy. The reason why for someone experiencing trolling change from personal enmity to psychological problems, however the take on it has witnessed quite a dramatic change.
Initially, trolling was adopted by social network and forums to be able to recognize the newbie or perhaps the ones who weren't area of the insider group.

A topic which in fact had already been discussed to death through the members was again posted, and trolling would start by the insider members when a, newly joined or irregular member would post his answers. It was later substituted from the more lethal attention seeking trolling, where people would post controversial remarks, in order to gain attention or in their psychology, receive recognition for their different opinions. Popular psychologists have found its roots inside the wish of lonely people to take part in a discussion, and quite unsurprisingly, this loneliness is because internet itself. The ripple effect of internet resulting in a decrease in contact with others is another topic that has been discussed to death. (So don't are seduced by it if you happen to see it by using an online forum ;)

But speak to today's youngsters and the reasons for trolling obtain a brand-new dimension. Reasons of loneliness and psychological problems don't feature here. Rather, fun and time pass appear to be at fault. Also, while in an internet Armageddon, an individual realizes he has lost the talk, in order to cop-out of the embarrassment of defeat, they can embarrass the opponent by a sly "dude, I had been just trolling you!"
Trolling isn't essentially dangerous if it's limited to posting of comments that don't injure the dignity of your person and if each other does not lose his sleep regarding this. But trolling gets beyond control when slanderous pictures and incriminating remarks make means by the disguise of entertainment. Ideally, a person should avoid giving any type of reply to a troll, as it is exactly what they are looking for and answers only encourage them. But when things get out of hand, then it's better to contact the website manager or other online forums which specialize in tackling of trolls.

Even tackling of troll poses a dilemma as what can be constituted being a troll can be a subjective matter. What could seem as undignified to one may be harmless entertainment for another. But every fun has its boundaries and or undignified remarks will not be entertained, and sometimes it means losing some members who were enjoying the fun.

Nevertheless the harmless trolls that do not possess any ulterior motive can make hours spent on the internet quite entertaining. Funny home videos, witty remarks, someone's deafening karaoke session or the dance training of a person with two left feet usually are not harmful within their general sense and so are great for quick laughs. With certain websites focused on collecting trolls from various portals and providing their viewers a funny time, harmless trolling is undoubtedly a boon.
Only rider: trolls should thrill however, not kill!
