Diet Exercise and Detox Foot Patches

Hi, kiwibox! My diet is liberating. Some people complain on here and elsewhere on the internet about their diets like they’re a “ball and chain”. This is true, especially when you are locked into a pattern of “yoyo” dieting; cycling through periods of discipline and indiscipline with a fluctuating body weight. I think if a diet isn’t natural; that is to say, if a diet does not at least simulate what our bodies evolved to eat and thrive on, it will feel like work sticking to it. And, our bodies ultimately will reject whatever it is we’re trying to sell it.


This same way of thinking applies to the three key areas of health and wellness: diet, exercise and limiting the toxicity of the body (ok, your mind is important too, but I am not discussing that today).

Keto and paleo eating

Our bodies are extremely adaptable. We evolved to metabolize a wide spectrum of consumable natural products. One feature of this biological diversity is how our bodies can function off fats and protein. If you eat a high fat, and protein + green veggies diet, your body will start to metabolize the fat to power itself instead of sugar. This is what you are doing if you are on any low-carb diet.

The key to these diets is sticking to them during the period of time that you body adjusts to the new routine. This can be VERY hard. Things like “keto flu” and “carb withdrawal” are real, and they can feel as serious as withdrawal from addictive drugs. But, like a poem from Keats, after hell comes paradise.

Smooth sailing

Once your body has adjusted to powering itself with fat, it becomes easy to both find and consume the products it requires. Fatty meat is the cheapest (and most delicious to eat), and the same goes for a lot of other things keto/paleo dieters regularly eat. This is what I refer to as liberating in the opening of this article. These diets, once you’ve adapted to them, can be set on cruise control and you will no longer be a slave to the emotional yoyo cycle to traditional and wrong “carby” diets.

Exercise: do it

It’s quite simple. When you start to exercise after a long period of inactivity, your body will need to adjust. Your body feels crappy when you start to exercise because it is a body that doesn’t exercise! But, once you’ve gotten started exercise makes you feel good; it gives you energy, and the act of exercising becomes an automated process that brings only joy and vitality. So, do it!

Detoxification and you

Don’t be deceived! Your body detoxifies itself through the function of the kidneys, liver and colon. Heavy metals and other environmental toxins are a thing; especially if you live in, or near, a big city. But, many supplements and “cleanses” don’t actually work unless, of course, they are aimed at supporting our natural mechanisms for removing toxins.

That’s why this section of the article is again, short and sweet.

Any website or book with advice on reducing the levels of toxicity in your body that recognizes the facts, and only offers products that help your colon, liver or kidneys, is likely reliable. Whenever you see detailed scientific writes ups, it’s usually a good sign, too.

Detoxification through the feet

Another self-reinforcing cycle to get into is education. Educating myself about quality health and wellness products and routines has usually led to positive benefits for my own health. However weird it first sounds, detox foot patches are a great addition to anyone’s routine detoxification program.

As instructed, I put one on each foot overnight and repeated every night. Every morning, I woke up to find that the patches were soaked in this gross brown/black concoction. I soon discovered that the sludge was a blend of heavy metals and other toxins that the pads had helped leave my body through my feet!
