Sony has not replied to various requests for comment on the bring about of these network troubles and how it is handling the difficulty.

A heavy influx of new customers might have led to some of the troubles we've encountered more than the past handful of days. A well known theory relating to the outages is that they are the operate of an on the net collective known as Lizard Squad, which had threatened previously to take down each services on Christmas day. Nonetheless Lizard Squad claimed their attacks on the networks ended the evening of December 25.

Whilst a tweet posted early this morning gave PlayStation Network users hope that all was returning to regular following two days of crippling downtime, as of this writing users are nevertheless getting difficulty connecting to the PlayStation Network on the PlayStation four, when both Sony consoles are possessing concerns connecting to the PlayStation Store.

Sony's wording right here lends credence to claims the service has been the target of malicious traffic attacks, and the downtime is not merely a symptom of a huge influx of new customers.

Testing the service myself, on the PS3 I was capable to connect to an on the internet match of P4 Arena Ultimax just fine, but have been unable to access the shop due to the fact last evening.

the @AskPlayStation Twitter account recently updated with the following:

As of this writing Xbox Live services have been up and operating reasonably smoothly due to the fact yesterday morning.

We're conscious that some users are experiencing sign-in difficulties on PS4 and PS3 engineers are investigating the lead to.

We will continue to monitor the scenario and update must Sony respond to our continued queries.

The video game industry has been experiencing higher levels of traffic created to disrupt connectivity and on-line gameplay. Various networks, like PSN, have been affected more than the final 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore complete network access and online gameplay as swiftly as possible.

Attempting to connect to the PlayStation Retailer or any PlayStation Network solutions on the PlayStation four returns the "connection to the server has been lost" message seen above. Being unable to connect to the network also suggests any game I've downloaded from the PlayStation Retailer will not open, as the verification server can not be reached.

Two days following the Christmas day outage that laid low each Xbox Reside and the PlayStation Network, users are still getting difficulty connecting to PlayStation Network solutions on PS4 and PS3. Update: Sony points to disruptive targeted traffic as the bring about of its network situation.
