Darren Sproles Returns To Kansas For His Annual Camp

5925537614938127670.jpg We really wanted to kind of add that dimension to sports as well because its just not about sports, she said. Sproles and Michel founded Sproles Empowered Youth in 2010 and host annual camps and a 5K run, which will take place July 6 at Southcreek Office Park in Overland Park. The Boys Camp began Wednesday and will conclude Saturday at Avila University. The Girls Camp will incorporate discussions on health, fitness, image and age-appropriate fashion and makeup. It is slated for July 31-Aug. 3 at San Diego State University in Michels home state and now, the Sproles familys hometown. The Sproles are looking to expand their foundation beyond the Olathe and San Diego communities that helped shape the couples lives, Michel said. They hope to provide additional boys camps in San Diego and New Orleans to include all of the communities where the family resides.

Bucs' Goldson suspended for hit on Darren Sproles

5925537621388160392.jpg A statement from the NFL on Wednesday confirmed that Goldson did win his appeal of the one-game suspension. This makes him eligible to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Since 2010, the Bucs' safety has 15 personal fouls, more than any other NFL player. Since 2010, Goldson has also been fined a total of $71,750 and that includes multiple helmet-to-helmet hits. This will take his total up to $171,750 total. Through two games this season, Goldson's total fines amount to $130,000. The discipline for Goldson was reduced by Matt Birk, an independent appeals officer appointed by the NFL and the NFLPA. "Birk is jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFL Players Association to hear and decide appeals for on-field player discipline," the league's statement said. Fantasy focus: Hand sidelines Sproles for Week 9, maybe more

5894360707605795920.jpg The suspension was imposed by NFL Vice President of Football Operations Merton Hanks. "You had an unobstructed path to your opponent," Hanks wrote in a letter to Goldson informing him of the suspension. "It is clear that you lowered your head and unnecessarily rammed the left side of your helmet into the left side of your opponent's head. You delivered a forceful blow with your helmet and made no attempt whatsoever to wrap up your opponent or make a conventional tackle on the play. This illegal contact clearly could have been avoided." Goldson may not practice this week nor play in the Buccaneers' game this Sunday against the New England Patriots. Goldson will be reinstated on Monday, September 23. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Goldson can appeal his suspension within three business days. The hit on Sproles was Goldson's fifth for unnecessary roughness since 2011 and his second in the first two weeks of the this season.

NFL reduces suspension to fine for Bucs Goldson's hit on Saints' Sproles

5925537620952450110.png Drew Brees will likely shift many of those targets around to his receivers and tight ends. Thomas and Ingram can be expected to be a bit more involved in the passing offense, with screens, curls to the flats and hot routes. It remains unclear just how Sproles was injured, though it is likely that it happened during Sunday night's game with the Broncos. There was no clear moment of injury, nor any postgame reports. The Saints are also being vague about what actual bone was broken and repaired. That's crucial to determining a timeline, though once Sproles has a cast on, it will be nearly impossible to figure out unless Sproles or the Saints tell us.
