Advice from a local on getting into a Vegas nightclub

So you've booked your vacation to fabulous Vegas and you're ready to begin planning the ultimate party experience. Vegas is famous for having the best nightclubs in the world, no question about it. And I'm sure you've heard a bunch of different stories about how these clubs work, how to gain access, and how to have that memorable night people keep talking about. It's ludicrous all of the false tales and just plain wrong information that is said about the clubs in Vegas.

Are they truly the top venues in the country?

Are they super confusing and mysterious about how to get access into?

The answer will be a hard NO come your completion this article.

Let's break it down and clear up the confusing mess as simply as possible. You have three different options for entering Vegas nightclubs: general admission, entry by guest list, and table service for the VIPs. We'll cut it down to two options because this piece is about partying without the need for bottles.

General Admission

Of the many ways to get into these clubs, this is the most common and least favorable. General admission is basically when you choose just to walk up to the club, hop inline and wait to get in. With general admission, you're looking at waiting in some pretty long lines (up to several hours) and then you'll still be paying full cover price when you make it to the front of the line. There's a chance that you could get pulled out of line if you're a super cute group of all girls, but it's pretty unlikely. If you're a member of the rest of the world (like myself), get comfortable and maybe bring a lawn chair and some board games for the wait. I personally don't recommend general admission unless its your only choice. Check out the options below, unless you like to make friends in line.

Guest List Entry

Entry via guest list is the type of entry I always recommend my visiting friends to use because it usually works for most parties, is more economical, and lets you skip most of the line. How does it work? Thanks for asking. Basically, you submit a request for your group to be put on a nightclub's guest list for a specific evening. If your request is approved, and over 90% of them are, your party will be placed in a VIP line that is way shorter than the main general admission queue. For girls, the majority of the time you'll get free entry; and for gentlemen, it is free sometimes but at least it's usually a largely reduced cover. You also want to make sure that your group qualifies and meets the guidelines that go along with guest listing. I'm posting a link to my favorite Las vegas company, Royal Vegas Tours, that provides every last detail you need and is the site where you apply for the FREE guest list for the top 12 clubs in town.

All you have to do is go to the site, select the club you're interested in, click the guest list button, fill out your basic information (takes 20 seconds), and they'll respond back within 1 business day. It's free.
