A Few Tips For Packing When Moving

Are you in front of a new house move? Will you try to do it all by yourself or you will hire a moving company that will help you with this difficult task? Of course, the most stress-free and easy solution is to call professionals! Whatever your choice is, the only thing that certainly has to be done is to pack very well all your belongings and furniture and prepare them for the upcoming relocation.

  • When packing, you probably wonder what items to take with you in the car and which ones to leave in the van. It is better to take the most valuable and expensive items with you. Оf course, it is not about all the expensive white or black kitchen appliances, but the things that are extremely important for you - documents, money, passports, jewellery, etc. They will not weigh so much and at the same time, you will be calmer.

  • Besides the precious belongings and documents, it is good to avoid packing all kinds of foods, beverages and other products with a short expiration date. They can easily turn sour and damage, in one way or another, your personal belongings.

  • Make sure you have packed all belongings in the most qualitative and safe way. Here are a few tips that will help you:

     - Use as much packing tape as possible. This will seal the boxes and will provide greater stability and strength.

     - Avoid humid places that could affect the strength of the boxes.

     - Do not put all little nuts, bolts and screws, needed to reassemble the furniture, directly in the boxes. Pack them well in separate bags in order to avoid all difficulties to find them after the move!

     - Use packing paper, bubble wrap, blankets or UPSable peanuts for packing fragile items. Make sure you wrap each item separately. Write "FRAGILE" with big red letters on the boxes.

     - Label accurately and clearly all your boxes to find them easily. Make sure you label the sides as well because when you put the boxes in a van or car you won’t be able to see their tops. You can label the boxes by room and by category (for example Library - Books and Bedroom - Books) to speed up the unloading process.

     - Use small boxes for heavier items and large boxes for light things like towels, decorative pillows and linens.
