Operating System Compatibility Issues on HP Printer


HP printers work seamlessly on the broad range of operating system, but for outdated versions of OS or to maintain the compatibility with your HP printer, you need to call upon HP tech support. Or follow the given steps to maintain or retain the compatibility of your HP printer on the device you are using.


  • Power on the printer
  • Unplug the all connected USB cable from your printer. If required, the HP software will instruct you to do so.

  •  The Device Installation Settings will prompt on your screen.
  •  Select Yes, do this automatically and then Save changes

Install the drivers for your printer:

On connecting your printer to a Windows 7 based device, the hardware will update automatically and install the required drivers. You can track the installation of HP printer drivers on your device, there is no need to use any software.

In order to install the basic drivers for HP printers on your Windows 7:

  •  Turn off the printer and computer first.
  •  Plug the USB to your printer and then to the computer.
  •  Turn on the devices
  •  On the “Your devices are ready to use” screen.
  •  Close the window by clicking on the Close button.
  •  The drivers for your printer is installed on your device.

Once the basic driver is installed on your driver, you can simply print with your HP printer. In order to print from HP software, follow the steps:

  • Select the document you want to print in the software application.
  • Select File and then click Print.
