Usa To Have Young, Skilled Defense At Worlds | Detroit Free Press | Freep.com

6004292446252701306.jpg / Ron Chenoy, USA TODAY Sports by Kevin Allen, USA TODAY Sports by Kevin Allen, USA TODAY Sports Filed Under USA Today hockey ADVERTISEMENT Nashville Predators' Craig Smith was a key forward on the USA's bronze medal team at the 2013 World Championships review and he will be back trying to turn it into gold. Smith, a 24-goal scorer, is the leading scorer among the 15 players named Tuesday to the U.S. squad that will compete at the tournament in Minski, Belarus May 9-25. This will be the third time Smith has played for USA at the World Championships. Last spring, Smith had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points playing on USA's top line. The strength of the USA squad could be on defense where Jacob Trouba (Winnipeg Jets), Seth Jones (Nashville), Jake Gardiner (Toronto Maple Leafs), Jeff Petry (Edmonton Oilers), Jake McCabe (Buffalo Sabres) and Matt Donovan (NewYork Islanders) have already committed. Other NHL forwards include Brock Nelson (New York Islanders), plus Jimmy Hayes and Vince Trocheck and Drew Shore (Florida Panthers). Former NHL players Peter Mueller and Tim Stapleton, currently playing in Kim Kardashian Europe, will also play, along with college standouts Kevin Hayes of Boston College and Connor Hellebuyck of UMass-Lowell.

Mom Drove Van Into Florida Surf As Kids Screamed For Help, Rescuer Says

5929161995643710034.gif "I saw a child hanging out the window waving his hands screaming, 'help us, help us,'" said Taylor Quintin, 14, of Milton, Vt., Kim Kardashian who was on the free beach at the time of the rescue. "The kids started screaming, 'There's a baby in the car' and that's when another bystander ran in to get the toddler... I heard one kid say, 'Why did she do this?'" Another bystander, Simon Besner, videotaped the dramatic rescue. "The lifeguard went in the car to rescue Kim Kardashian the little girl, and then he was stuck himself in the car, so the other lifeguard took him back out of the car," Besner said. In the video, the mother staggering in the heavy surf is seen nearly dragged under the car, sucked in by the undertow. As for the rescuers, Besner said: "They did a really nice job. They did an excellent job." The mother is currently hospitalized and is undergoing mental evaluation.

Britney Spears Won't Let An Oscar Snub Get Her Down

5998600965925111528.jpgexternal link width='200px' style='float:left;padding:5px' .. [read more] /> By John Walker Everyone (me) agrees that Britney Spears looks totally ravishing in a new photo of her with boyfriend David Lucado arriving at Elton John 's Oscar viewing party. The newly red hair , the glamorous home page black gown that perfectly complements her hot bod-eh it's almost enough to make me forget about that vicious Best Original Song snub. Apparently, the Spearitually uplifting lyrics of " Ooh La La ," Britney's contribution to "The Smurfs 2," had no effect on the hearts of the Academy's voting body. (I mean, I'm assuming they have hearts, because, after this complete and utter scandal, #QUESTIONABLE.) Perhaps, there was some foul play , a la Lana Del Rey and "Young & Beautiful"? But as much as I would've loved to see Britney accept what is TBQH rightfully hers tonight, at least I can take comfort in the fact that she's not going to let others' bad taste ruin her Oscar night. And, like, there's still the Cannes Film Festival this May! OK, so they technically don't have a category celebrating flawless musical achievement in film, but, IDK, they could always surprise Britney with a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring her iconic star turn in 2002's "Crossroads." I mean, who doesn't wanna see her party in France? C'mon, Cannes! You better stan, bitch.
