NATA said the guidelines are designed to provide doctors, trainers, coaches and athletes with ways to prevent sudden deaths among young athletes, particularly those with underlying heart conditions. "Strength and conditioning sessions have become fundamental to success in collegiate sports," task force chair Douglas Casa, director of athletic training at University of Connecticut Neag School of Education, and chief operating officer of the Korey Stringer Institute, noted in an NATA news release. The Courier - Your Messenger for the River Valley - Local teams gear up for summer workouts

If all three are selected in the first round, it would mean all five starters from the 2013 team that reached the championship game will have been first-round picks along with Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. last season. Its crazy to think about us five starters and two years later, we could all be first-rounders, Robinson said. Not a lot of teams and program can develop their players and say that. Although Robinson played out of position and guarded bigger power forwards at Michigan, he has had the chance to show NBA teams in his workouts that he has the skill set to play small forward as a pro and has impressed in his tryouts. They really wanted to see if I could dribble and guard (shooting guards) and (small forwards), he said.
