Dear Patrick,

Car illness as if you have described is 100% mental, and not real.

Here are three things it is possible to do to correct car sickness:

#1: Start feeding your puppy dinner, in the car... Although it is parked in your drive way, together with the engine down. Start doing it with the engine on, after you have done this for weekly. For your first few days, he might decide that he doesn't desire to eat. Too bad. His food drive will win out over his unreasonable anxiety about the car. By the third week, I would like you to put him in the car, drive the car for the end of the road and back, then park and feed him dinner. Gradually expand the visits, and you then are going through the steps too quickly, if h-e starts getting sick again.

#2: Supplement # 1 by playing games with the dog, involving the car. Play fetch, using the car door open. Put the ball in the-car, allow the dog hop in, hop out, and have the ball. Do it with the engine on, when you see the dog gradually start to relax. Quickly you'll manage to simply take him for a short drive to the park, where you'll then reward him with lots of play and fun.

#3: With a few dogs, only using them on an all day road trip will break them of the anxiety. They will provide and stress for the first half of the afternoon, but by-the second half, they begin to acclimate. Take lots of breaks at pit stops and take your dog out and play with him. Soon he'll associate that the vehicle represents a precursor to fun and play.

That's all for now, people!

Adam.
